Chicora Elementary School

Charleston County School District has completed work for the replacement of the existing Chicora Elementary School.  Coordinating with the City of North Charleston resulted in a new location for the school adjacent to the existing Military Magnet High School.  The construction of the new building consisted of an approximate 74,000-square-foot elementary school that accommodated 500 students.  The new state-of-the-art facility contains typical Classroom spaces for Grades Pre-K through 5th Grade, a Media Center, Cafeteria, Multipurpose, Computer Labs, and other support spaces for the Chicora Elementary staff and students.  The design for the facility included features to showcase the school’s Communications Curriculum.
