The Crane Creek Pedestrian Park and Nature Center is 2.6 acres of renovation to an existing neighborhood pocket park located in Columbia, SC. Brownstone designed the park to include a new 0.26 mile recycled rubber walking and jogging trail to support healthy living initiatives currently being planned by local government and school districts. In addition, the park incorporates a Nature Center that accommodates outdoor classes related to the study of native South Carolina plant life, insects and agriculture. The center is designed to hold approximately 25-30 students and is adjacent to a 0.06-mile nature trail. A new neighborhood-friendly entrance is part of the design and includes a brick column entryway and landscaping. Additional elements include new landscaping along Crane Church Road, lighting, gravel pathways and covered picnic shelters.
